“That’s exactly what the bastard deserves,” I throw my head back and cackle. I’m starting to feel the wine too.
“We have to come up with something so good he’ll never pull this crap on another girl ever again.” Ellie is so excited by the idea that she accidentally spills a little of her wine onto her dress. We dissolve into laugher once more.
“Any ideas?” I ask.
“We could do the obvious,” Ellie explains. “We set him up. One of us begs for him to come back, the other hides somewhere with a camera. When Peter starts to get all handsy with one, the other jumps out and calls him out on his bullshit. No one knows that you’ve broken up, right?”
“A few of my friends do,” I reply. “But I can always let them know about the plan beforehand so they don’t say anything.”
“That could work! Once we have the video proof, we can post it everywhere on social media so everyone can see what a scumbag he is. It’ll completely ruin his image and we both know how dedicated he is to his image.”
It’s true. The man dedicated more time to his selfies than I did. He needs everyone to think very highly of him especially his family. Wait, that’s it! His family!
“I have another idea,” I say with a cheeky grin.
“Tell me!” Ellie has a hungry look in her eyes.
“His parents are old money, extremely well respected, and care very much about the family image,” I roll my eyes. “If we went to his mother, who loves me by the way, and told her what Peter did she’d be outraged. His family will never look at him the same way again and that will last longer than any post on social media.”
“That’s brilliant!” Ellie squealed. “I like both plans. They’d both work perfectly. Which one do you think we should do?”
